  • HISTORY
The American College is the first institution in this region to introduce computers and computer laboratory in education even in the early seventies. The College started teaching computer courses with the advent of Apple Plus II computers, imported from the United States even before Autonomy was introduced in the college. With the grant of autonomy to the college, several computer-oriented courses were started. Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications was started in the year 1985, followed by B.Sc (Computer Science) in 1993 and to crown it all, Master of Computer Applications Program in the years 1994. The brain behind the success of the computer science program rests with stalwarts like Dr.R.P.Riesz, Dr.P.Pandiyaraja, who were instrumental in developing a full-fledged Laboratory and in framing the cutting edge syllabi for the various programmes.
