LUNCH ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME

Lunch assistance is offered to the most needy UG & PG students of the American College Only those who cannot afford a lunch otherwise need to apply for this assistance.

 

TAMIL DEPARTMENT ENDOWMENT SHCOLARSHIP FOR MERITORIOUSSTUDENTS IN TAMIL LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE STUDIES

  1. This award has been instituted through an endowment created by the Department of Tamil
  2. This award is exclusively meant for students of Tamil Department both at the P.G. and U.G. levels.
  3. This award is meant for encouraging students who manifestly show special interests in the study of Tamil language and literature indicated by their special contributions. Marks alone need not be taken as an exclusive criterion.

  4. The assistance shall be in the form of grant of money for nurturing the special interest or talent, normally the assistance will be in the form of book-money, assistance for attending seminars / conferences and for doing projects.
  5. The award of this assistance and the quantum of this assistance there of shall be decided on merit and on case by case basis.

  6. The application for this award must be forwarded to the scholarship committee only through the Tamil Department.

SAM’S OLD STUDENTS’ STUDENTS AID-FUND

  1. The scholarship aims at helping poor students in meeting needs that arise out of certain contingencies while pursuing their course of study.
  2. This award is largely a discretionary assistance decided by the Principal on the advice of the scholarship committee and recommended by the Department concerned.
  3. This assistance is open to all students of Self-finance Programs, irrespective of their courses and year of study.

  4. This assistance is open to all students of Aided Programs, irrespective of their courses and year of study..
  5. The Screening of application by HOD shall take into account the following factors:
    • Monthly income of the parents
    • Occupational/Educational Background of Parents
    • Academic performance in the previous year of study [in the case of I year B.A./B.Sc. students this means +2 marks and in the case of I year M.A./M.Sc. Students final year marks in B.A./B.Sc
    • Regularity of attendance
    • General Conduct
    • Involvement in co-curricular activities
