UGC Sponsored HEPSN Centre (Higher Education for Persons with Special Needs) helps visually challenged students through a talk library, tape recorders, a computer installed with specific software to read scanned English text, Camera magnifier with 29’inch TV for low vision students. The centre celebrates each year Louis Braille day, Helen Killer Day. World Disabled Day and conducts essay writing, oratorical competitions, cricket and chess tournaments for visually challenged students of Madurai District Colleges. Every academic year more than 20 visually challenged Tamil and English literature students are benefited.
