Action Plan
  • Conducting workshops periodically to identify the individual artistic self expression and prepare the students for the world of creative imagination.
  • Introducing regional, national and global trends and concepts of creative art through classroom interactions. 
  • Organizing annual art exhibitions, literary reading sessions, seminars, film festivals and music concerts to enrich the artistic taste of students. 
  • Arranging interactions with eminent artists and technicians to fill the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience. 
  • Developing a fully functional IT lab, film viewing room, audio and video studio to train students in latest and best technology available. 
  • Arranging for experts on campus from various fields, such as writers, painters, sculptors, photographers, playwrights and film directors to stay on campus with students to enable students to develop higher creative aspirations. 
  • Organizing field trips coinciding with film festivals and television and film production schedules.
  • Producing programmes for local television channels.
  • Preparing students for national and international visual media competitions.
  • Conducting cultural events, film festivals and exhibitions for school children to promote the academic value of visual media.
  • Instilling taste in students to appreciate the aesthetics of traditional folk arts as an alternative to urban aesthetics and modern art forms.
  • Sharpening the creative abilities of rural students in order to create impact on popular media.
     
    Workshops
  • To invite professionals, creative artists, technicians, and conduct workshops to examine and provide hands on, intensive training on the techniques involved in visual media production.
     
    Seminars
  • To organize at least on seminar per year to debate / discuss / reflect on national / regional film, television and advertisement media so as to develop a understanding though critical appreciation.
     
    Video Library
  • A wide collection of films from south East Asia to Middle East Asia, U.S.A to South American and European film screening on regular intervals to enable the students to enrich their knowledge about the different facets of societies.
  • The Video Library has the projector facility apart from the television sets, with a film collection of about 320 digital video discs.
     
    Library 
  • The Department does enrich and equip the students with the contemporary literature which is essential to understand the various walks of life. 
  • The department library contains the most world classic novels which have been made into films.
  • Books on film making, documentary making & light productions occupy the major segment of the library which has almost 250 books.
